30 Day Nail Art Challenge (cont. yet again)

Day 3,4, & 5

Alright so I have decided that this will be my last 30 day post for a bit.  Once I have completed the challenge I will post the remainder of the photos.  It seems monotonous  to keep posting the same thing every day.  I will be doing a review tomorrow so I am really looking forward to that!   Anyway onward to days 3, 4, and 5.

Day 3 - Yellow Nails

For the yellow nail I tried to do a beautiful dark blue base with a yellow crackle over it.  Unfortunately it didn't work as I had planned (common sense had clearly not been my friend).  I used an unlabeled blue polish I have.  The only thing that is written on it is Cairo and I have yet to be able to find anything on it.

The yellow crackle I used is by Pure ice.  I love the crackle polishes quite a bit and this one has a beautiful shimmer to it!  I was not super thrilled with the way this brand crackled but all in all it is a gorgeous color.

Day 4 - Green Nails

For the green nail day I went a little nuts!  I did a froggy accent nail and swirls.  I love the way the frog came out but I definitely need to practice the swirl technique.

Day 5 - Blue Nails

Oh blue how I love you!  I can't even begin to guess how many blue polishes I currently own.  I love them all so very much even though there are some that are eerily similar to each other.

I chose this picture to show the sparkle that OPI's The Flowers are Blue-ming shines and shimmers.

Well I am exhausted and I am sorry for such a substandard post but it will have to do for tonight.  I am so sorry readers but  my day has worn on me and my up coming trip to California is weighing on my mind.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for my review!

30 Day Nail Art (cont.)

Day 2 - Orange Nails

Today I am just going to jump right into my 2nd day of the challenge.  I HATE ORANGE! Orange nails was probably my most despised day because I truly hate the color orange.  It looks great on me and everything I just do not like it at all!  I decided to pair it up with a yellow and do a gradient manicure just to get through having to deal with this color on my nails.

In the end I didn't really mind the way the color came out but I was definitely glad to take this mani off! The yellow I used is Orly's Melodious Utopia and I am absolutely ion love with it.  I will forgive the fact that it has a tiny orange shimmer to it since it really does look lovely.  I will definitely be reviewing this polish in the near future so keep checking back for that!

For the orange I used Orly's Truly Tangerine.  Again I love the coverage it gives I am simply not a fan of oranges.  I am still debating on whether or not to review this as it means I will have to do at least one hand all orange!

Look back tomorrow for Day 3, 4, & 5 combined in one blog post!

30 Day Nail Art Challenge

Day 1 - Red Nails

So I decided to start my blog off with my 30 day nail art challenge so that I can get back into the habit of writing!  It has been quite some time since I have dedicated my time to writing what is on my mind so bear with me while I work out the kinks.

I started the challenge to help me with the inspiration as well as practice.  Painting my nails always calms me down but I was quickly running out of ideas!

Since I am one of those girls that can rarely have just one color on her finger nails I decided to dress it up a bit and try out the corset look.  I also used my color club holographic silver on my pinky nail as an accent.

For the red I used Pure Ice's Siren and I have to say this is one of my favorite reds ever!  It is a gorgeous true red that covers nicely in just two coats.  I tend to lay on my polish relatively thick so some may want to do three coats if you decide to pick up this polish.  There was no staining (a problem I tend to have with reds) when I removed this either.  All in all I really loved this manicure.

Come back tomorrow for Day 2 - Orange!

Sunday, June 9, 2013

So I have been debating on what to do for my first post.  Should I do the standard introduction? Should I just jump right into my polish crazy world? Should I do a thank you post to everyone who has encouraged me to start this blog?

Well I have never done anything traditionally so I am going to just mash it all into one!

The Intro

So here are the basics:  My name is Stephanie.  I was born and raised in a small town in north eastern Pennsylvania.  I have two kids (a 13 year old boy and an 11 year old girl).  I have several pets including a cat named Rocky, a New Zealand bunny named Mr. Beans, a holland lop bunny named Lilith, and a rat named Odin.  I am absolutely addicted to painting my nails!  I do my nails usually once a day.

The Thank You

So my list for thanks is pretty small but I need to thank my boyfriend for dealing with my insane varnish fascination!  Also a dear friend of mine Kimi for encouraging me to start this blog.  Thank you both for putting up with my craziness!

Lacquer Land

Ok so here it is!  My battle station, my escape from reality, my pretty pretty polishes that make me oh so happy!

So there you go!  That is my first post!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for the beginning of my 30 day nail art challenge!
